What Is Curvistan Bangkok?

Curvistan Bangkok is a venue where Porsche lovers, art enthusiasts, and food lovers converge. It opened on March 9, 2024, as a collaboration between Stefan Bogner, creator of the internationally acclaimed Curves magazine, and Thai visionary entrepreneur Chanond Ruangkritya. The venue celebrated the grand opening of its permanent home on Sukhumvit 38 on August 28, 2024. The space aims to be more than a cafe. It is a design manifesto that celebrates car culture through art, coffee, drinks, and carefully curated exhibitions.

This is the first permanent Curvistan location in Southeast Asia and one of only a handful worldwide. The project received backing from Porsche Asia Pacific, connecting the venue to the global Porsche community and the Porsche brand at an official level.

Coffee by Day, Cocktails and Art by Night

The Coffee Academics operates the coffee shop at Curvistan Bangkok, serving specialty roasts throughout the day. In the evening, the space transforms into a bar with a cocktail program managed by Socrates Delicious Syrup Company. Rotating art exhibitions change every two to three months, with international curators involved in the selection. There is also an official Porsche Lifestyle Boutique where visitors can shop for Porsche Design accessories, clothing, and essentials.

The art gallery typically features automotive photography and works inspired by driving culture. Past exhibitions have displayed prints and original pieces that echo the spirit of Curves magazine, with its focus on mountain roads and sports cars. The food menu covers light bites and sharing plates, making it a comfortable place to spend a couple of hours. Past shows include the Porsche Unseen concept car exhibition and a 956 Le Mans anniversary display, both staged with Porsche enthusiasts from across the region in mind.

The Porsche Lifestyle Boutique corner stocks Porsche Design luggage, apparel, and accessories beside the gallery space.

The Porsche Community Hub on Sukhumvit 38

Curvistan Bangkok functions as the social hub for Porsche owners in Thailand. It is the starting point for organized group drives, including the Renn Drive events that depart from the parking area on Sukhumvit 38. On any given weekend, you will find Porsches displayed outside, from air cooled classics to the latest 992 models. But you do not need to own a Porsche to visit. The cafe and bar welcome anyone with an appreciation for design, art, and good coffee.

How Do I Get There?

Curvistan Bangkok is located on Sukhumvit 38, in the Phra Khanong area. The nearest BTS station is Thong Lo, about a 10 minute walk. The venue is open daily from 7 AM to midnight. Check their Facebook and Instagram for upcoming exhibitions and events. Street parking is limited, so arriving by BTS or taxi is recommended.

Renn Driver's Take

Curvistan isn't just another cafe with a car parked in front. It is the coolest air-cooled hangout in Bangkok. Stefan Bogner and Chanond Ruangkritya basically built a living room for the Porsche community right in the middle of Sukhumvit 38. It is sun drenched, minimalist, and has this gallery meets garage vibe that you just don't find anywhere else in Thailand.

The best part is that the cars rotate. One day you are sipping a latte next to a pristine 911E, and the next, you are staring at a 919 Hybrid or a Vision Spyder concept. It has become the default pre-drive or post-drive spot for the Renn Drive people. If you are into Porsche design and actually want to see these cars up close, this is your home base.
