Bangkok Auto Salon - ASEAN’s Ultimate JDM & Tuning Festival

Bangkok Auto Salon

Bangkok Auto Salon is Thailand’s biggest modified car show. Custom builds, aftermarket parts, and automotive lifestyle culture annually at BITEC Bangna.

Bangkok Auto Salon

Bangkok Auto Salon is Thailand's biggest modified car show and ASEAN's largest tuning exhibition. It runs annually at BITEC Bangna in Bangkok, typically for five days in late June or July. The show is officially licensed by Tokyo Auto Salon, the world's largest custom car exhibition held every January in Chiba, Japan.

Bangkok Auto Salon was the first Thai event to receive that license, and the connection shows. Select award-winning builds from Tokyo Auto Salon are flown in and displayed alongside the best Thai and Southeast Asian builds.

The event has grown steadily since it launched, attracting tens of thousands of visitors each year. For anyone into JDM builds, widebody kits, stance culture, or performance tuning, Bangkok Auto Salon is the single biggest event on the Thai calendar.

What Is on the Show Floor at Bangkok Auto Salon?

Bangkok Auto Salon fills multiple halls inside BITEC Bangna with custom builds, aftermarket brands, and automotive lifestyle culture. Zones include European, Wheel, Accessory, and the Option Rev Up Zone. There is also a dedicated Thailand Motor Sport Zone and a Grand Prix F1 display area.

Hundreds of builds compete for awards across 40-plus categories. Categories include best JDM, best European, best engine bay, best interior, best paint, and best overall. The quality of work on display rivals what you see at SEMA or Tokyo Auto Salon itself.

Major aftermarket brands set up booths with new product launches. Performance parts, wheels, audio systems, detailing supplies, lighting, and accessories. If you are building a project car, this is where you find out what is new in the Thai market.

The judging panels include car builders, media figures, and international guest picks. Winners get recognition across Grand Prix International's media platforms, and the trophy ceremonies draw big crowds.

What Else Happens at Bangkok Auto Salon?

There is live music, mini concerts, and entertainment throughout the show. The 2024 edition featured 9 builds from 7 international builders brought over from the Yokohama Hot Rod show, cars that had never been displayed outside Japan before.

Coverage from Bangkok Auto Salon gets picked up by YouTube channels and automotive media across the region. If you enjoy Thailand's car culture scene, this is one of the biggest events on the annual calendar alongside the Bangkok International Motor Show and the XO Autosport show.

Where Is Bangkok Auto Salon Held?

BITEC Bangna is in Bang Na district, about 1 km from BTS Bang Na station. The venue has over 70,000 sqm of event space and 5,200 parking spots. The show uses Hall 100, which is fully air conditioned.

Hours are typically noon to 9:30 PM. Tickets are 100 baht (about $3 USD) through ThaiTicketMajor or at the door.

How Do I Attend Bangkok Auto Salon?

Bangkok Auto Salon runs for five days, usually late June through early July. Weekday visits are less crowded. If you want to photograph builds without fighting for angles, go on a weekday afternoon.
