Bangkok International Motor Show

Bangkok International Motor Show is Southeast Asia's largest and longest running annual motor show. Organized by Grand Prix International, it has been a fixture of Thailand's automotive calendar since 1979. The show runs for 12 days every spring at IMPACT Challenger in Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi.

The 2026 edition marks the 47th year. Over 1.5 million people walk through the doors across those 12 days, making it one of the most visited auto shows in Asia.

What Cars Are at the Bangkok International Motor Show?

Bangkok International Motor Show fills multiple halls inside IMPACT Challenger with full production booths from every major manufacturer operating in Thailand. Porsche, BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, Toyota, Honda, BYD, and dozens of other brands compete for attention with new model reveals, concept cars, and show-exclusive promotions.

Thailand is Southeast Asia's largest auto manufacturing hub, and several global manufacturers use the Motor Show as the launch platform for Asia-Pacific model debuts. Cars appear here months before they show up at other regional events.

If you are interested in the latest 992 generation or want to see how the 911 Turbo compares in person, the Porsche booth is always one of the highlights.

The show also features dedicated motorcycle halls with the latest from Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Ducati, and BMW Motorrad.

What Is the Show Floor Like?

The show floor spans multiple halls. Beyond the main car displays, there is an aftermarket accessories section, automotive lifestyle products, insurance and financing zones, and interactive brand experiences. Driving simulators and VR setups keep things interesting even if you are not buying.

Many attendees come specifically to place vehicle orders. Bangkok International Motor Show is famous for offering the best new car deals of the year. Tens of thousands of orders get placed during the run, making it one of the most commercially significant auto shows in the world.

How Did the Bangkok International Motor Show Start?

The first edition was held in 1979. Grand Prix International built it from a modest trade event into a production that rivals the scale of auto shows in Geneva, Tokyo, and Detroit. Over the decades it evolved into a consumer-facing spectacle that draws families, collectors, industry professionals, and car enthusiasts from across Southeast Asia.

The show's longevity and scale reflect Thailand's role as a major automotive manufacturing base. Several factories here produce vehicles for export across the region, and the Motor Show is where those manufacturers put their best foot forward each year.

How Do I Get to the Bangkok International Motor Show?

IMPACT Muang Thong Thani is in Pak Kret, Nonthaburi, about 30 minutes north of central Bangkok by car. The Pink Line monorail now connects to the IMPACT complex, making it easier to reach by public transport than in previous years. Parking fills up fast on weekends, so plan accordingly.

Tickets are around 100 THB for general admission. Weekday visits are significantly less crowded. If you plan to negotiate a vehicle purchase, weekday afternoons produce the best results because sales staff have more time.

Wear comfortable shoes. The exhibition halls are massive and you will be on your feet for hours. Bring a power bank because the photo opportunities are endless.
