Chang International Circuit (also known as Buriram International Circuit) is Thailand’s FIA Grade 1 racetrack in Buriram, hosting MotoGP, World Superbike, and Super GT.

Chang International Circuit Events is the motorsport calendar at Thailand's only FIA Grade 1 and FIM Grade A certified race track. Located in Buriram, also known as Buriram International Circuit, the venue Thailand's only FIA Grade 1 and FIM Grade A certified motorsport race track. Also known as Buriram International Circuit, it hosts some of the biggest motorsport events in Asia, including the Thailand MotoGP round.

The circuit opened in 2014 and put the northeastern city of Buriram on the international motorsport map. It was designed by Hermann Tilke, the architect behind many Formula 1 circuits worldwide.

What Is the Track Like at Chang International Circuit?

The track is 4.554 km long with 12 turns. There are long straights and a challenging final corner that has produced dramatic moments in both MotoGP and touring car racing. The facility includes modern pit buildings and grandstands that hold over 100,000 spectators.

For drivers, the combination of high-speed sections and technical corners makes it one of the most complete circuits in Southeast Asia. Public track days give amateur drivers the chance to experience the full layout.

What Events Are Held at Chang International Circuit?

The annual Thailand MotoGP round (Thai Grand Prix) is the headline event, typically held in October. Riders from the premier class compete on one of the newest circuits on the MotoGP calendar, and the Thai GP has quickly become a fan favorite.

The circuit also hosts the World Superbike Championship, the Asian Le Mans Series, and Super GT. The Thailand Super Series (GT3, GT4, touring cars) uses Buriram as a key round in its season.

Beyond the international races, Chang hosts domestic racing series, public track days, and special automotive events throughout the year. It was the first race venue of this caliber in Thailand.

The MotoGP weekend in particular transforms Buriram. Over 100,000 fans pack the grandstands, and the surrounding streets fill with merchandise vendors, food stalls, and fan zones.

The energy during qualifying and race day rivals any MotoGP round in Europe or Asia.

What Are Track Days Like at Chang International Circuit?

Track days at Chang give you access to the full Grand Prix layout. Sessions are organized by experience level, and you can bring your own car or rent from track day operators.

The pit facilities and run-off areas make it one of the safest places to push a car hard in Thailand. Several Porsche owners in Thailand make the trip specifically for the chance to drive a proper FIA circuit.

For something closer to Bangkok, Thailand Circuit and Kaeng Krachan Circuit offer more accessible options for regular track days.

How Do I Get to Chang International Circuit?

The circuit is about 400 km northeast of Bangkok. There are domestic flights to Buriram, or it is about a 5-hour drive. Hotels, restaurants, and entertainment have built up around the area, and the city is accessible enough for a weekend trip.
