Porsche Taycan Turbo GT Quick Summary
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| What is it? | The flagship, track-focused version of the electric Taycan sedan |
| Power | 777 hp normally, 1,019 hp with Launch Control, up to 1,092 hp briefly |
| 0-60 mph | 2.2 seconds standard, 2.1 seconds with Weissach Package |
| Top track speed | 180 mph standard, 190 mph with Weissach Package |
| EPA range | 276 miles for the 2025 Turbo GT |
| Best version for most owners | Standard Turbo GT with four seats |
| Best version for track use | Turbo GT with Weissach Package |
The Turbo GT sits above the Taycan Turbo S. Both use dual motors, all-wheel drive, an 800-volt electrical system, and Porsche’s two-speed rear transmission. The GT adds more power, less weight, a stronger rear-axle pulse inverter, specific chassis tuning, and more serious aerodynamics.
It is still a Taycan, so the standard model remains usable every day. The Weissach Package changes the brief. It removes the rear seats and trades some comfort for a sharper track setup.
Taycan Turbo GT Specs and Performance
Porsche’s launch specifications list 777 hp in normal operation. Launch Control raises output to 1,019 hp. Porsche also quotes a two-second peak of 1,092 hp under its defined test method.
| Specification | Turbo GT | Turbo GT Weissach |
|---|---|---|
| Normal output | 777 hp | 777 hp |
| Launch Control output | 1,019 hp | 1,019 hp |
| Peak output | Up to 1,092 hp for two seconds | Up to 1,092 hp for two seconds |
| 0-60 mph | 2.2 sec | 2.1 sec |
| 0-124 mph | 6.6 sec | 6.4 sec |
| Top track speed | 180 mph | 190 mph |
| Seats | Four | Two |
How Attack Mode Works
Attack Mode adds up to 160 hp for ten seconds. The driver can call it up with the mode switch or a right-hand paddle. It works above 3 mph when the battery is warmer than 50°F and holds more than 30 percent charge.
The speed does not come from power alone. Porsche fitted a 900-amp rear pulse inverter, lightweight ceramic brakes, forged 21-inch wheels, carbon-fiber bucket seats, and Porsche Active Ride suspension. The suspension can control each wheel independently to reduce pitch and roll without making the car dead flat in every drive mode.
Taycan Turbo GT vs Weissach Package
The standard Turbo GT is the better road car. It keeps four seats, the powered charge-port doors, more sound insulation, and a fuller audio system. You still get the same headline power and nearly the same acceleration.
The Weissach Package is the circuit choice. Porsche removes the rear seats, rear speakers, some insulation, the Sport Chrono clock, and even the trunk mats. The fixed carbon rear wing, front diffuser, underbody air guides, and other aero changes produce up to 485 pounds of downforce.

| Choose the standard Turbo GT if… | Choose Weissach if… |
|---|---|
| You need rear seats | You regularly drive on track |
| You want the quieter road car | You want maximum aero and 190 mph |
| You want easier daily charging access | You accept a two-seat cabin |
| You want the same Launch Control power | You value lap time over comfort |
Do not choose Weissach because the badge sounds rarer. On public roads, its main changes remove useful equipment. Its advantage appears when speed, braking, and aero loads stay high for repeated laps.
Range and Charging
The EPA rates the 2025 Taycan Turbo GT at 276 miles, with combined efficiency of 82 MPGe. That is enough for normal road use, but fast highway driving, cold weather, sticky tires, and track sessions will cut the number.
How Fast It Charges
The 105 kWh Performance Battery Plus works with an 800-volt architecture and accepts up to 320 kW at a compatible DC fast charger. Porsche says the updated Taycan can charge from 10 to 80 percent in about 18 minutes under ideal conditions. Battery temperature, charger output, and starting charge level all affect the result.
The practical buying question is not how the quoted range compares with every rival. It is simple: can you charge at home, and do your common routes have reliable high-power chargers? If the answer to both is yes, the Turbo GT can be easier to use than its performance suggests. If you rely on slower public charging, the ownership experience gets old fast.
Track Records and the Manthey Kit
A pre-production Weissach car ran the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 7:07.55. Porsche says it carried a legally required roll cage and racing bucket seats. Treat the result as a development benchmark rather than a showroom-spec customer-car lap. A Turbo GT also ran 1:27.87 at Laguna Seca in February 2024. These records showed that Porsche had solved more than straight-line acceleration.
Then Porsche and Manthey went further. In May 2026, a Weissach car with the new Manthey Kit completed the Nordschleife in 6:55.553. The kit adds wider wheels and track tires, revised suspension and braking, much more aero, and powertrain software changes.
At 124 mph, Porsche says total downforce rises from 209 to 683 pounds. Top speed climbs to 192 mph. Normal system output rises to 804 hp, while Launch Control remains at 1,019 hp. For model year 2027, Weissach-package buyers can choose the optional Manthey Kit. Porsche has not published its U.S. kit price in the cited release.

What Changes for 2027
For model year 2027, Porsche adds E-Shift virtual gear changes across the Taycan range. It is standard on the Turbo GT and optional on other Taycan models. Steering-wheel paddles select eight simulated gears, while software adds shift motion, a virtual tachometer, and a revised Electric Sport Sound.
E-Shift does not add a physical eight-speed gearbox or extra peak power. It changes the sensation and sound of acceleration. Drivers who want the smoothest possible EV should leave it off. Drivers who miss the rhythm of a gas sports car may enjoy it.
Most U.S. model-year 2027 Taycans gain a passenger-side native NACS DC fast-charging port, but Porsche excludes the Turbo GT with Weissach Package. The driver’s-side AC port remains J1772. The infotainment system adds a redesigned interface, stronger phone integration, and AI-supported voice control.
Price and Which Taycan Turbo GT to Buy
Porsche launched both 2025 versions at $230,000 before destination and options. For 2027, Porsche USA lists both Turbo GT versions from $243,700 MSRP before options, taxes, registration, and delivery fees.
Buy the standard Turbo GT if you want one of the quickest road cars sold and still need rear seats. It gives up only a tenth to 60 mph and keeps the same Launch Control output.
Buy the Weissach Package if the car will see serious track time and you can live with two seats. Its fixed wing, lower weight, extra downforce, and higher top speed are genuine functional changes.
Consider the Turbo S instead if rear seats and road comfort rank above track hardware. It delivers more performance than most owners can use and is covered separately in our Taycan Turbo S guide.
Choose the Turbo GT only if you will use its lighter chassis, brakes, and aero on track. Otherwise, the Turbo S is the stronger road-car decision.
Porsche Taycan Turbo GT FAQs
Is the Taycan Turbo GT faster than the Turbo S?
Yes. The Turbo GT has more peak power, a quicker quoted 0-60 mph time, less weight, and a more track-focused chassis. The Turbo S is the more sensible daily flagship.
Does the Weissach Package cost extra?
Porsche launched it without a higher base MSRP than the standard Turbo GT. That does not make it the automatic choice because the package removes the rear seats and other road-use equipment.
Can the Taycan Turbo GT use Tesla Superchargers?
Most model-year 2027 U.S. Taycans have a native NACS DC fast-charging port, but the Turbo GT with Weissach Package is excluded. Access still depends on the network, station hardware, and Porsche’s charging agreements.
Is the Taycan Turbo GT practical?
The standard four-seat car can work as a daily driver if you have reliable charging. The Weissach version is far less practical because it removes the rear seats and some comfort equipment.
