Use the model year on your registration and the badge on the car. These are practical year bands, not a substitute for a VIN or build record: Boxster 986 is about 1997–2004; 911 996 about 1998–2005; Boxster/Cayman 987.1 about 2005–2008; Boxster/Cayman 987.2 about 2009–2012; 911 997.1 about 2005–2008; and 911 997.2 about 2009–2012.

What the results mean

It is manufacturer documentation, not a Renn Driver physical test or a promise that every control-unit variant will complete the job.

No — the maker’s documentation does not list this is reserved for an explicit documented absence. Not verified — check with the seller before you buy is the normal fail-closed result. Conflicting information — see both sources appears only when stored sources disagree. No finder card makes a compatibility claim from broad advertising language.

Why we say “Not verified” so often

iCarsoft POR V3.0 and Foxwell NT530 Plus have public pages, but we did not capture a reproducible result that names this exact chassis and task. PoCOM coverage snapshots are preserved for ongoing review, but this launch dataset does not promote their row-level figures into broad tool outcomes. Generic ELM327-class readers are shown only as a generic engine-emissions baseline. PIWIS is a factory reference, not a shopping recommendation. Autel is not evaluated because a confirmed exact-SKU result was not captured.
