Rotary Day
Rotary Day is a one-day meet for rotary-powered cars, held on the River Park terrace on the G floor of ICONSIAM in Bangkok. It is the Sunday half of the XO Special Meet, the live-car side of the Thailand Diecast Expo weekend, organized by Grand Prix International, the same company behind the Bangkok International Motor Show and XO Autosport.
Where Saturday belongs to the Nissans, Sunday belongs to the Wankel. Expect a field led by Mazda RX-7s, from FB and FC to the FD everyone wants, alongside RX-8s and the occasional rotary swap. River Park's riverside setting on the Chao Phraya gives the cars a backdrop few meets in Bangkok can match.
When and Where Is Rotary Day?
Rotary Day takes place on Sunday 12 July 2026 at River Park on the G floor of ICONSIAM, 299 Charoen Nakhon Road, Khlong San, Bangkok. Get there via the BTS Gold Line, the river shuttle, or the ICONSIAM ferry from Sathorn. Meet hours are confirmed on the organizer's social channels nearer the date.
It closes a two-day JDM weekend that opens with Skyline & GT-R Day on Saturday 11 July.
What Cars Show Up at Rotary Day?
The draw is the rotary engine in all its forms. Mazda's RX-7 is the star, with FD3S examples pulling the biggest crowds, but you also get FCs, FBs, RX-8s, and the odd rotary-swapped oddball built by owners who live for the brap. Many run the bridgeport and peripheral-port setups that make rotaries sound like nothing else.
Running under the XO Special Meet banner means the standard is high. The cars tend to be finished builds rather than works in progress, so it is as much a show as a meet.
Rotary Day and the Thailand Diecast Expo
Rotary Day runs alongside the Thailand Diecast Expo inside ICONSIAM, so one visit covers the rotaries out on River Park and the largest diecast and scale-model show in the country indoors. It is a fitting close to a weekend built around Japanese performance icons.
